Ridgefield voters gave Democrats a resounding victory in the November 3 town elections. To all the voters, candidates and volunteers who participated in the Nov 3 election, the Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee extends a heartfelt “thank you”.
We obviously take great satisfaction in the results: an “off-year” election which maintained Democratic majorities on the Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance, captured the Town Treasurer office (first time in 30 years!) and increased Democratic membership on the Board of Education. We are grateful for the support of so many who made this happen, and to our outstanding candidates/office holders:
- First Selectman: Rudy Marconi
- Board of Selectmen:
- Barbara Manners
- Steve Zemo
- Town Treasurer: Molly McGeehin
- Board of Finance:
- Dave Ulmer
- Jessica Mancini
- Paul Sutherland
- Board of Education:
- Karen Sulzinsky
- Fran Walton
- Douglas Silver
- Planning & Zoning Commission:
- 4-Year Seat: Tim Dunphy
- 2-Year Seat: Tim Dunphy
- Zoning Board of Appeals: Dwayne Escola
- Board of Assessment Appeals: Jeffrey Lundberg
- Police Commission: George Kain
Finally, we also thank all the candidates of other parties. Though we may have serious, substantive disagreements about policy, Ridgefield residents of all stripes are united in our love for our town and in our desire to continuously make it better.
